Seminar on private funding for UA

The UA Foundation and UAA and UAF development staff are offering a seminar at UAF, Wednesday, Aug 21, and at UAA, Thursday, Aug 22, to
help answer questions about how the campuses and the foundation work to promote giving
to UA and help ensure that donors’ wishes are honored. All university staff members
are welcome and encouraged to attend.
After an introductory discussion, members of the foundation and UA development teams
will talk about stewardship, scholarships, fundraising support, and prospective research
and management. The afternoon session will focus on gift acceptance and spending —
everything from special events, endowments and memorial funds, to grants vs. gifts,
real estate and restricted gifts.
