The Center for Student Engagement is offering a series of presentations and workshops in August for new and returning students and their parents, families and supporters.

Tuesday, Aug. 11
6-7 p.m.
Get Involved!
Academics are your number one priority, but they’re only part of the college experience. Get involved — from student organizations to intramural sports to student employment — and develop skills to make your resume stand out!

7-8 p.m.
COVID Care
Learn about the precautions that UAF is taking this fall to keep members of our community safe and healthy. Staff from the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Department of Residence Life will be on hand to answer questions.

Power Up: UAF Esports
UAF is launching a brand-new esports program this fall. Find out how you can be a part of this exciting new opportunity and get a sneak peek at UAF’s dedicated esports space opening later this fall!

Thursday, Aug. 13
6-7 p.m.
Sustainable Living for Students
The Office of Sustainability offers a variety of programs to help students live sustainably while they’re in college. Get an overview of our recycling program, FreeStore, food pantry and Green Bikes program, and learn ways you can live sustainably while studying at UAF.

7-8 p.m.
Advocacy and Activism for Social Change
Learn about how you can get involved in social change and activism both at UAF and in the Fairbanks community. We’ll talk about collaborations and programs where students can shape their experience and enact lasting social change.

Tuesday, Aug. 18
6-7 p.m.
Prevention and Wellness
UAF is committed to creating a safe and caring environment. Learn how the Nanook Diversity and Action Center supports student wellness through programming to prevent relationship violence, drug and alcohol misuse and suicide.

7-8 p.m.
Caring for Mental Health
Join staff from the Student Health and Counseling Center and the Nanook Diversity and Action Center to learn mental health and wellness resources available to UAF students.
