University Relations

Every year I wonder about two scholarships that I have personal knowledge of. One is the Jimmy Bedford Scholarship (it was established something like 25 or 30 years ago. The other is the William Waugaman Scholarship (established about 12 years ago). To my knowledge, neither one has ever been awarded to a student. It has been explained to me that "there are so many scholarships available and some are never applied for." What does the university do to promote these (and other) little-known scholarships to students? Is it up to the various student advisors to make students aware of these opportunities? Maybe a better alternative could be explored. Thanks for your consideration.
