The University of Alaska Fairbanks will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its women’s and gender studies program with a free public lecture Monday, Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium.

Sociologist and visiting scholar Sharon Bird will speak about the strategies women and minorities use to navigate careers in academia. She will also discuss ways to diversify science, technology, engineering and math faculties in the United States.
