The UAF Russian Club will host a calligraphy contest from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. Participants will receive prizes, critiques and plenty of practice.

The contest will be held in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures office, 608 Gruening, on the Fairbanks campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Experienced and aspiring calligraphy enthusiasts are welcome.

A College of Liberal Arts faculty panel will judge entries in three categories: English alphabet, Russian alphabet and two-line writing.

The College of Liberal Arts, the largest of UAF’s academic units, comprises arts, humanities, social sciences and language disciplines across 20 departments.
