Red sashes for Native graduates

Red sashes are available for Alaska Native and American Indian students graduating
this spring. Students can pick one up at Rural Student Services (main floor, Brooks
Building) until 5 p.m. Friday, May 4, or before the ceremony Saturday, May 5, at the
south upstairs entrances at the Carlson Center. Doors open at noon.
Sashes will also be available at each rural campus and at the CTC building, 604 Barnette
St.
The sashes were introduced in 2001 by the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Native
Education to recognize the importance of Indigenous graduates at UAF.
