Rasmuson librarians offer research writing assistance

Rasmuson librarians will be at the UAF Writing Center, 801 Gruening, every Thursday
from 2 – 4 p.m. to assist students with their research needs. Students are seen on
a walk-in basis and can get help with any question they might have.The Writing Center is a student-staffed, student-oriented service of the English Department. Tutors, English Department teaching assistants and a few outstanding undergraduate students can assist in all phases of the writing process, including the following:
- Brainstorming and generating topics
- Organizing ideas
- Developing research strategies
- Use of citation styles -- MLA, APA and Chicago Manual
- Editing for clarity and correctness
Each student is collaborated with on a one-to-one basis and worked with at any phase of the writing process -- planning, drafting, revising. Help with finding ways of improving grammar, mechanics and punctuation is also available.
