Radon, healthy homes workshops offered

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will offer separate workshops in Fairbanks and Nenana on testing for radon, carbon monoxide and arsenic.

Art Nash, the Extension energy and radon specialist, will lead the Fairbanks workshops Jan. 21 in Room 108 of the University Park Building at 1000 University Ave. The workshop on radon detection and testing will meet at 4:30 p.m., carbon monoxide at 5:30 p.m. and testing for arsenic and methods for filtering water at 6 p.m.

The Nenana workshops on Jan. 29 will include radon at 5 p.m., carbon monoxide at 6 p.m. and arsenic at 6:30 p.m. The Nenana Student Living Center at 610 E. Sixth St. will host the workshops.
