Queen appointed associate vice chancellor for financial services

After a competitive search, Julie Queen has been appointed UAF’s associate vice chancellor for financial services. Queen has held the position on an interim basis since Raaj Kurapati left UAF in July 2016.

Queen holds an MBA in capital markets from UAF and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Pepperdine University. She has worked at the University of Alaska in various capacities for the last 13 years, most recently as the director of UAF's Office of Management and Budget. She is well-regarded by her employees, peers and members of the UA and UAF leadership team.

The associate vice chancellor for financial services supervises UAF’s core financial operations and provides decision-making support to the chancellor and UAF leadership. The position directly supervises the Bursar’s Office, the Office of Finance and Accounting and the Office of Grants and Contracts, and has oversight for financial matters related to campus auxiliary and business operations.
