InsideClimate News executive editor Susan White will give a free public lecture, "The Future of Our Children's Children: Why Journalism is Essential in the Climate Debate," Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

This event is free and open to the public. In 2013, White's seven-person newsroom at "InsideClimate News" received the Pulitzer Prize for their work on "The Dilbit Disaster: The Biggest Oil Spill You've Never Heard Of." Three years earlier, her investigative team at ProPublica.org received the first-ever Pulitzer awarded to an online news organization.

The presentation is part of the Snedden Guest Lecture series, which is organized by the UAF journalism department. The series is made possible by a generous endowment from the late Helen Snedden in honor of her late husband, former Fairbanks Daily News-Miner owner, publisher and journalist C.W. Snedden.
