Pesticide applicators conference offered in Anchorage

Registration is now open for the Alaska Certified Pesticide Applicator Conference March 14 in Anchorage.

The conference runs from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Coast International Inn and is designed for pesticide applicators who are working toward renewing their certification. Participants will receive six continuing education units.

Presentations will cover controlling and identifying pantry pests, insect growth management, greenhouse pests and controls, label reading, bedbugs and more.

Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation certification is required for anyone who acts as a pesticide consultant or engages in the commercial or contract use of a pesticide.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will host the annual conference in cooperation with the DEC. A $50 fee includes lunch. See the agenda and registration options at www.uaf.edu/ces/ah/psep/news.
