Parking permit price won't rise, but meter rate will

Several decisions about parking and shuttle services were made after UAF Parking Services
received more than 500 responses to a survey.
The survey is now closed. Parking Services thanks all participants.
Here are some of the decisions:
- Zone parking will not be explored at this time. It was not well received.
- Parking permit prices will not increase in the coming year.
- The student transportation fee, which is now $13 and has never been increased, will rise to $15 for the fall 2015 semester. Students who are enrolled in four or more credits in the Fairbanks area pay the fee. It also will increase $2 per academic year for two more years after 2015. The transportation fee partially funds campus shuttle service.
- Parking meter rates and day pass prices will increase, respectively, to 75 cents per hour and $5 per day. Current prices, which also never have increased, are 50 cents per hour and $3 per day.
