Palmer Muntz wins prestigious award

Palmer Muntz, UAF's senior regional admissions counselor, won the top award for the Pacific Northwest Association of College Admission Counseling. The Sister Shawn Marie Barry Distinguished Service to Youth Award recognizes admissions professionals who have been in the field for a minimum of ten years and has demonstrated "outstanding and faithful service to youth."
The recently created regional admissions counselor position is based in Washington state and serves prospective students in Oregon and Washington. In Muntz's first year he attended more than 200 events or school visits, increased contacts with prospective students by 46%, increased the number of interested students requesting additional information by 27% and increased applications by 43%.
