NSF talk on Computer and Information Science and Engineering program

Allyson Kennedy, a program officer in the Computer Information Sciences and Engineering Directorate, and Vincent Tedjasaputra, with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, will give a presentation via Zoom on Wednesday, June 2, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Register by 5 p.m. Monday, May 31, for the Zoom link. The talk is sponsored by the UAF Office of Grants and Contracts Administration.

The mission of the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering is to enable the U.S. to uphold its leadership in computing, communications, and information science and engineering; promote understanding of the principles and uses of advanced computing, communications, and information systems in service to society; support advanced cyberinfrastructure that enables and accelerates discovery and innovation across all science and engineering disciplines; and contribute to universal, transparent, and affordable participation in an information-based society.

CISE supports investigator-initiated research and education in all areas of computer and information science and engineering, fosters broad interdisciplinary collaboration, helps develop and maintain cutting-edge national cyberinfrastructure for research and education, and contributes to the development of a computer and information technology workforce with skills necessary for success in the increasingly competitive global market. Participants may join via zoom to learn about opportunities within the CISE.

Vince Tedjasaputra is an AAAS Science and Technology Policy fellow in the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs as a public affairs specialist. OLPA communicates to external audiences information about the activities, programs, research results and policies of the National Science Foundation. OLPA employs a wide variety of tools and techniques to engage the general public and selected audiences including Congress, the news media, state and local governments, other federal agencies, and the research and education communities.

This and other OGCA G-CReATE sessions can each be counted as 1.0 credit hour for the renewal of a CRA, CPRA, or CFRA certification. Participants are responsible for tracking their credit hours.
