October hands-on museum programs feature food

The University of Alaska Museum of the North is offering hands-on programs during the month of October to explore the science, culture and art of food.



The Early Explorers drop-in programs for children five and under meet each Friday from 10 a.m.-noon. Parents and kids can enjoy arts, crafts and conversation with provided activities.

Junior Curators, for kids six and up, is offered two Saturdays each month from 2-4 p.m. Discover animals, plants, culture and art through hands-on investigations and crafts. The theme for Saturday, Oct. 4, is Make Art with Food. On Saturday, Oct. 18, kids will explore the differences between carnivores and herbivores.
