Matt Nolan, research professor in the Institute of Northern Engineering, has won $240,000 in new funding from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Arctic Landscape Conservation Cooperative, in order to better understand the links between climate, glaciers, and ecology in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The grant is aimed at answering the question of what will happen to fish and birds downstream from glaciers once the ice masses disappear.
