The UAF Political Science Department and the University of Alaska Press are presenting the next entry in the documentary film series What Does It Mean To Be Free? with "Feels Good Man," a profile of the indie comic character, Internet meme, and unwitting right-wing hate symbol Pepe the Frog.

Next Monday, March 1, at 7 p.m., join us on Zoom to view and discuss this film. UAF political scientist Jeremy Speight, anthropologist Robin Shoaps, and Arctic and Northern studies alumna Carolyn Kozak Loeffler will provide commentary and a collaborative response.

Other entries in this semester-long series are as follows:

  • Monday, March 1, 7 p.m.: "Feels Good Man" (2020; directed by Arthur Jones)

  • Monday April 5, 7 p.m.: "13th" (2016; directed by Ava DuVernay)

  • Monday April 26, 7 p.m.: "The Look of Silence" (2014; directed by Joshua Oppenheimer)

Participation is free but registration is required. Everyone in and outside of the UAF community is encouraged to participate. Register here.
