New quit smoking program offered

The University of Alaska is pleased to offer a program to help quit tobacco to UA employees, their spouses and dependents age 18 and over. The Quit For Life® Program combines personalized phone-based coaching sessions, free nicotine patches or gum, and materials to help you quit tobacco for good. The program is fully covered by the University of Alaska for you and your eligible family members.

When you enroll in the program you will receive:


  • One-on-one phone-based coaching sessions scheduled at your convenience

  • Toll-free telephone access to Quit Coaches for the duration of the program

  • Recommendations for medications like the nicotine patch, gum, or Chantix

  • Free nicotine replacement products (8 weeks of patch or gum) delivered to your home

  • Unlimited access to web-based learning and social support tools on Web Coach™
