Last time out
The Nanooks have not shot in 2021 in a competition setting. Their last match came in Oxford, Miss., against Georgia Southern when the 'Nooks knocked off the Eagles, 4693-4579. They spent a weekend in Mississippi, facing off with both Ole Miss and GSU. Their one loss came against Ole Miss a day prior to their GSU matchup, as they fell in an X-tiebreaker, 4697-4697 (309-284 X's).

Top shot
Kellen McAferty , the lone-NCAA qualifier for the Nanooks a year ago, has shot the top aggregate score on the year twice for Alaska. 1179 is the top score posted by the junior from Little Rock, Wash., who has posted it twice this season with the last coming on Nov. 17, 2020 versus Ole Miss. Just behind him with the second best aggregate score is Jessica Boyce . She posted an 1178 on Nov. 14, 2020, on opening day at Memphis.

Reigning champs
The TCU Horned Frogs come to Fairbanks for the first time since Oct. 13, 2019 when they defeated the 'Nooks, 4663-4703. With no 2020 NCAA Rifle Championships, TCU, the 2019 champions, remain the reigning champs this season. They find themselves ranked just ahead of Alaska, at #4 in the CRCA rankings. Fairbanks is looking for their first head-to-head victory over Texas Christian since the 2013-14 season when they traveled to Fort Worth, Texas and knocked them off, 4692-4646.
