The University of Alaska Museum of the North is collecting gifts to help Fairbanks families in need this holiday season. Everyone is invited to bring presents for kids ages infant to 17 years old and put them under the tree in the lobby from now until Monday, Dec. 21. The goal is to collect enough toys to fill the bed of a pickup truck from Kendall Toyota of Fairbanks.

Each year, the museum collects toys and gifts for Fairbanks families. The museum is partnering with the United Way of the Tanana Valley, a Fairbanks organization that shares the donations with member agencies. Volunteers from Kendall Toyota of Fairbanks will be on site to load up a truck and transport the gifts to the United Way offices.

The museum is also holding a holiday store sale. Stop by the Museum Store for special offers, including a family membership-in-a-mug which can be given to a family or donated to the gift drive. For more information, call 907-474-7505.
