Multimedia presentation offers window on arctic expedition

The University of Alaska Fairbanks International Arctic Research Center will present a free public multimedia presentation, “An International Expedition to the Top of the World: Advancing Climate Research and Reaching Out to the Public,” Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium. Parking on campus is free after 5 p.m.

The event will focus on the 2013 summer Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System research expedition and the concurrent summer school program that took place on a Russian research vessel in the Arctic Ocean.

Presenters will include IARC’s Igor Polyakov and Lindsay Bartholomew of the Miami Science Museum. The presentation will include photos and videos taken during the expedition and include discussion on the importance of sharing science with the public.
