Millennial generation presentation

March 1, 2011

University Relations

National speaker and author, Neil Howe will speak about the millennial generation in the workplace and on campus.  The first session March 3 is for UA faculty starting at 11:30 a.m. in 109 Butrovich. The second session is open to all campus faculty staff, students and the community, scheduled from 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. at the Fairbanks Princess Lodge. There are no fees to attend Howe’s presentations.  Howe draws the big picture by locating Millennials in the context of other youth generations (G.I.s, Silent, Boomers, Xers) over the last century.  Howe shares from his research who the Millennials are, what they’re looking for in their careers, and how employers, educators, and policy makers can maximize their workforce
potential.

Howe’s visit is sponsored by the United Academics, University of Alaska Statewide Office of Human Resources, UAF Office of Faculty Development and UAA Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence.  Contact Anne.Sakumoto@alaska.edu for more information.
