A fourth finalist for the position of intercollegiate athletics director at UAF will visit the Fairbanks campus this week.

The candidate, Michael Waddell, will spend Tuesday, July 24, meeting with members of the search committee, university administration, and Alaska Nanooks staff members and coaches.

Like the other three candidates, Waddell will hold a public forum on campus that includes a 20-minute presentation on his vision for the Department of Athletics. Members of the community, the media, boosters, fans, faculty and staff can attend the forum and ask questions.

Waddell currently serves as vice president for marketing and communication at the International Speedway Corp. in Richmond, Virginia, a position he has held since 2016. Waddell has more than 28 years in intercollegiate athletics and professional sports, including positions in upper administration, external operations, strategic communications and brand marketing.
