Graduate students interested in shaping national marine policy can launch their career with a NOAA Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship.

The Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program provides 30–50 students with a year of experience working on marine issues in a Congressional staff office or in a federal agency.

Applications are encouraged from students enrolled in graduate or professional programs who have an interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources.

The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship Program has allowed more than 650 students to share their expertise with policymakers in Washington, D.C., to see firsthand how science is used in the policy arena, and to participate in policy making.

The deadline for the 2021 Knauss Fellowship is Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, 5 p.m. Alaska time.
