The University of Alaska Museum of the North is exploring whales at hands-on programs during February.

Families are invited to drop in with children 5 and younger at Early Explorers Fridays from 10 a.m.-noon, except Feb. 16. On Saturday, Feb. 3, children 6 and older are invited to Junior Curators from 2-4 p.m. These activities are all included with admission and are free for members.

Teen Studio on Saturday, Feb. 24, offers an opportunity for young adults ages 13-18 to create whale-themed artwork. Please preregister at bit.ly/uamnteenstudio.

At Family Day: Whales on Saturday, Feb. 10, from noon-4 p.m., visitors can meet whale researchers and explore the role of whales in Alaska cultures. There is no admission fee for children 14 and younger at Family Days, thanks to support from TOTE Maritime.
