Last two weeks of United Way Campaign

UAF's participation in the United Way campaign is critically important to our neighbors in the Fairbanks community. As one of the largest employers in the area, UAF staff have traditionally been one of the largest groups of donors during the campaign.

As of Friday, Oct. 28, the UAF community has raised just over $10,637. Last year we raised over $67,000. It's time to kick this campaign up a notch. We're heading in to the final two weeks of the campaign here at UAF and your help is needed more than ever.

Here's what you can do to help:

  • Please emphasize to your fellow employees the importance of their donation to the United Way and to the Fairbanks community.

  • Payroll deduction is an option and makes donating much easier. Staff can simply fill out the pledge form and return it to HR via the department's PPA.

  • Forms received prior to Nov. 14 will be entered into a drawing to win family season passes to Nanook hockey, basketball and volleyball games, or a UAF Gold parking pass for one year. The drawing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15 during the Chili Cook Off at Wood Center.

  • Encourage staff participation in the Chili Cook Off. Departments can enter a team or staff can enter individually. Register to participate online. The Cook Off will take place Tuesday, Nov. 15, from noon - 2 p.m. in the Wood Center.

  • Encourage staff to attend the Chili Cook Off! Tickets are $5 for 5 tastings and $10 for 12 tastings. All proceeds will go to the United Way.

  • The most important thing you can do is to encourage 100 percent staff participation! It's not important how much is contributed, just that a contribution is made. Whatever amount is contributed will make a huge difference to a community member in need.
