Internationally renowned motivational speaker Joanna Kortik will offer a workshop and lecture about "crazy" leadership on April 8.

The events, open to University of Alaska Fairbanks students and the public, are sponsored by Students Offering Leadership Development.

The workshop, “Crazy U: Leadership in a Crazy New World,” will take place from 1-2 p.m. in the Wood Center Ballroom. Kortik argues that members of today’s generation expect leaders — whether formal or informal — to engage them, and a crazy approach to leadership is a great way to do that.

Students must register at www.surveymonkey.com/s/JoannaKortik. The registration fee $10. Financial assistance is available if needed.

Kortik will also present a free public lecture, “Crazy U: Becoming a Successful Global Citizen in the Business World,” at 5 p.m. in the Wood Center Ballroom. Kortik will challenge the audience to drive past “average” and take a trip down “crazy lane.” Joanna will share how to learn from experiences and dodge obstacles to success after college.
