Jenifer Huang McBeath appointed special advisor by Chinese government

Jenifer Huang McBeath, professor of plant pathology and biotechnology, has received an official appointed from the Chinese government to become a special advisor for the Guangxi Quarantine and Inspection Service. McBeath was recognized by her expertise in plant disease research, plant quarantine issues and international trade.

As part of her appointment ceremony, she delivered a lecture, “Strategies and tactics of plant protection under conditions of environmental change,” to prominent administrative officials, lab chiefs and inspectors. She is the first foreigner to have received this distinction.
