Most UA network services are back online Thursday following an extensive outage Wednesday. The UA Office of Information Technology continues to troubleshoot any remaining issues with the network and restore normal operations.

The network went offline at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday after an OIT contractor in the Butrovich Building caused a short in the building's electrical system. The outage affected a wide range of services, including phones and connectivity in Fairbanks, Banner and Blackboard, and university websites. UAF Facilities Services crews were able to make repairs by midday, which allowed OIT to start bringing parts of the network back online Wednesday afternoon and evening. Please contact the OIT help desk at 450-8300 or helpdesk@alaska.edu with any ongoing network issues.

Network status is also available online at http://alaska.edu/oit/ or on Twitter at @oitsupport.
