The Alaska Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research will hold meetings across the University of Alaska system to discuss EPScoR's next major research proposal to the National Science Foundation.

The meetings will help faculty and others learn about the proposal process and ways they can be involved.

The UA Fairbanks meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m.-noon in Room 109 Butrovich. UA Anchorage and UA Southeast meetings will be held Friday, Oct. 2, and Tuesday, Oct. 6, respectively, with times and dates to be determined.

Alaska EPSCoR improves Alaska's scientific capacity by engaging in research projects supported through National Science Foundation and state funds. The organization's current five-year project examines community adaptations to environmental and social change. The next proposed five-year project will explore how to understand regime shifts and tipping points in large-scale ecosystems in Alaska.

For more information, please see EPSCoR's invitation to submit ideas to refine the proposal.
