Important winter dates for on-campus residents

UAF Residence Life if gearing up for finals week, winter break and spring semester.

Academic peer mentors are in MBS 117 to help residents throughout finals week. Check out the peer mentor schedule as well as other academic resources.

If you are staying on campus during winter break or you plan to leave your car on campus, please move it to the Taku lot. Parking lots will be plowed during break, and vehicles left in other lots will be ticketed and towed.

If you you need a plan to stay on campus for all or part of winter break, applications are now available for winter break housing through your housing portal. Here are Residence Life Winter Break housing rates.

Here are some other important dates to keep in mind:


  • Dec. 8-13: 24 quiet hours in effect for finals week

  • Dec. 15 at noon: Halls close for winter break

  • Dec. 20 at noon-Jan. 2 at 8 a.m.: Residence Life central office closed

  • Jan. 10 at 8 a.m.: Halls open for spring semester
