Students will observe National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week with several events Nov. 15-18.

The week is scheduled annually for the week before Thanksgiving — an appropriate time to think about what we are thankful for, to share with our neighbors and to work toward a world where no one goes hungry or homeless.

The Leadership, Involvement and Volunteer Experience office, the Nanook Diversity and Action Center, and The Pub will host the following events:

  • Making tie blankets — Nov. 15, noon, Arctic Java

  • "Place at the Table" documentary screening — Nov. 15, 6 p.m., Arctic Java

  • Making homeless care kits — Nov. 17, noon, Arctic Java

  • Canned food drive karaoke — Nov. 18, 9 p.m., The Pub
