Honor the fallen by joining veterans roll call

Volunteers are needed for the fifth annual Veterans Day memorial roll call on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in UAF's Constitution Park. The roll call honors the more than 6,800 service members who were killed in action while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The event will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with readers reading names in 20-minute shifts and supervisors following along for an hour apiece to ensure no names are missed.

Readers and supervisors can sign up via Google Forms here. Volunteers can select multiple available times to maximize the event's flexibility and to allow scheduling of keynote speakers.

Organizers will accommodate volunteers within their desired times to the extent possible. The day will conclude with a closing ceremony.
