Griffith chosen as UAF diversity director

Margo Griffith has been selected to lead the UAF Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity.


Griffith most recently served as assistant director of UAF’s Office of Human Resources and has more than 16 years of human resources-related experience. In addition to her work as an HR consultant for several units on campus, she has led HR trainings on leadership, supervising and bullying awareness. Griffith has served as a deputy Title IX coordinator with UAF's HR office. She is trained in Affirmative Action and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, as well as bystander intervention strategies through the Green Dot program. She is a skilled facilitator experienced in conducting investigations and conflict resolution.


Prior to UAF, Griffith worked with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the Fairbanks Native Association and the State of Alaska Public Health Center.


The director of diversity and equal opportunity provides leadership, oversight and administration of the university’s equal employment and educational opportunities, civil rights compliance, and diversity and inclusion programs.


This is an exempt position reporting directly to the UAF chancellor.
