Junior goalie Scott Greenham was named the Most Valuable Player for the Alaska Nanooks 2010 – 2011 hockey season Saturday night at the team's end of the season awards banquet at the Fairbanks Princess Hotel. In all, seven players shared recognitions across the 11 team awards handed out.

The 6-foot-2-inch backstop didn't miss a game during the season, starting 38 consecutive games for a total of 2339:50 between the pipes for a 2.23 goals-against average and .917 save percentage. He recorded two shutouts en route to setting the Alaska Hockey program's career shutout record with eight. He started the season on a strong note, taking home the Brice Alaska Goal Rush MVP Award in just the second weekend of the season and helping the Nanooks capture their second straight tournament title. He was the CCHA Goaltender of the Week on Jan. 31, Alaska's Perani Cup champion and a Second Team All-CCHA selection.

Senior defenseman Bryant Molle took home the most honors for the night as he received the Dirk Anderson Scholar Athlete, the Rick Pitta Most Dedicated Player and the Don Jamieson Unsung Hero awards. A civil engineering major with a 3.94 cumulative GPA, Molle was Alaska's CCHA Scholar Athlete and a Lowe's All-Senior All-Second Team selection. He was also the league-wide nominee and one of five finalists for the national Derek Hines Unsung Hero Award.

Senior captain Kevin Petovello, whose record was 11 goals and 12 assists in 35 games, was named the Dean Fedorchuk Most Improved Player and the Pump House Team Player. Despite a severe knee injury midway through the season, he battled through the injury along with the help of his teammates, coaches and support staff and missed just three games. For his dedication and perseverance he was named the winner of the 2011 CCHA Terry Flanigan Memorial Award last month.

Rookie forward Cody Kunyk was the Keith Street Top Scorer and the Doug Desorcie Top Freshman. He notched 12 goals and 18 assists in 28 games. It marked the first time a first-year skater led the team in scoring since 2004 – 2005, when Kyle Greentree was tops his freshman year. Kunyk was the CCHA Rookie of the Week Nov. 1 and garnered honorable mention to the CCHA All-Rookie Team.

The Shawn Chambers Top Defenseman Award went to junior Joe Sova, who was second on the team in scoring with 4 goals and 20 assists in 37 games. He garnered honorable mention for the all-league teams as the CCHA's third highest scoring defenseman on the year.

Sophomore Nik Yaremchuk was awarded the Top Playoff Performer after notching back-to-back game-winning overtime goals in Alaska's first round home playoff series against Michigan State. He finished the series with four points (two goals, two assists).

Junior forward Ron Meyers garnered the Fan's Choice award. In 35 games he scored 1 goal and 7 assists.
