Governor appoints Moser and Woodward

Gov. Sean Parnell announced the appointments of Dennis Moser to the State Historical Records Advisory Board, and Kesler Woodward to the Alaska State Council on the Arts.


Moser, of Fairbanks, is the head of Alaska and Polar Regions Collections and Archives at the UAF Elmer Rasmuson Library. He has a long career as a librarian and archivist at the University of Wyoming, Bridgewater State College, Southern Methodist University, Houston Metropolitan Research Center, and others. Moser earned a master’s degree in information and library studies from the University of Michigan, and is reappointed to serve on the board as a representative of UAF.



Woodward, of Fairbanks, is an academic affiliate at the UA Museum of the North and a professor emeritus of art and northern studies. Woodward’s long career in the arts includes receiving the first ever Alaska Governor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts, working as a curator of visual arts and curator of temporary exhibits at the Alaska State Museum, and serving on the Western States Arts Federation for 10 years. He is reappointed to a public seat.
