GI food drive makes a difference

In the month of October faculty, staff and students of the Geophysical Institute collected 628 non-perishable food items and $700 in monetary donations for the Fairbanks Community Food Bank.

The GI Food Drive began in the fall of 2009 as a service project of the GI Staff Council. Since 2009, employees at the GI have collected more than 2,300 pounds of food and have donated more than $800 to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank.

A big thanks to all who helped to make the Third Annual GI Food Drive a success and those who are continuously dedicated to community service!
