Geological engineering senior wins Student Water Conference award

Uyanga Mendbayar, a senior undergraduate student in geological engineering, won an outstanding poster award in the fourth annual Student Water Conference for her poster "Investigation and Quantification of Water Track Networks in Boreal Regions Using Remote Sensing and Geophysical Data." The conference was held at Oklahoma State University in late March.

Uyanga received a Global Change Student Research grant to conduct this study, which is ongoing. She received a travel grant from Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity travel grant to attend the conference and make her presentation. Her mentor is Debu Misra, in the geological engineering department.
