Geist Road rehabilitation and campus traffic

May 2, 2011

University Relations

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities will begin rehabilitating one mile of Geist Road, from Thompson Drive to University Avenue, in early May. The project will include new asphalt and signs, traffic signal upgrades, and new sidewalk curb ramps, drainage and ditches. The first traffic impact is expected in mid-May.

Message boards will be posted several days in advance of significant activity. Drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes during construction.
