Certified food protection manager training will be offered April 1 in Fairbanks and Palmer and by videoconference in Barrow, Glennallen, Sitka and Kotzebue.

The food safety workshop, which is hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All food establishments must have at least one certified food protection manager on staff to comply with state food safety regulations.

Palmer agent Julie Cascio and Marshall Munsell of Fairbanks will teach the workshop. The registration deadline is March 20 so participants may receive study materials beforehand. Register online at http://bit.ly/ces-workshops. The $200 fee includes materials and one certification exam.

The class is taught in English, but study materials and the test are available in Korean, Chinese or Spanish. For more information, go to www.uaf.edu/ces or contact Kathy McDougall at 907-474-2420 or kmmcdougall@alaska.edu.
