Keziah Anderson recently premiered her student-produced film at the Anchorage International Film Festival and went on to win “Best International Short” at the Stone Flower Film Festival in Russia.

Cartoon-like picture of a woman's heavily made-up head with a violet placed over one eye.The award-winning film, “Pink Violet,” was produced in a UAF Theatre and Film Department class in a single semester under the direction of Maya Salganek, associate professor of film and video arts. Film Set Production I and Film Set Production II aim to teach students the filmmaking process by producing a capstone film project over the course of the semester.

The film follows Dana, a theater-obsessed college student who goes to extreme lengths to get into the mind of her character. Her commitment scares her father, Jeffrey, and her friend, Jody, into believing that she is suicidal, pushing them to try to save her from herself.

Anderson graduated from UAF in 2019 with a focus in film and performing arts. She currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she works as a freelancer, mainly producing feature-length documentary films.
