Ceramic bowls fresh out of the kiln cool on a shelf in UAF's ceramics studio. Art major Ian Wilkinson has thrown more than 1,000 of these bowls to be part of his senior
thesis exhibit. The bowls, glazed and fired in colors to represent all humanity, will
be placed on the floor and covered with plexiglass on which visitors will walk. Following
the exhibit, he plans to donate the bowls to the Fairbanks Food Bank to sell as a
fundraiser. The opening reception for Wilkinson's bachelor of fine arts exhibition
in the Art Department gallery will be 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, April 5; the exhibit will
be on display in the gallery April 1 – 12.
