Fairbanks Flutists' 38th annual concert

The Fairbanks Flutists will present their 38th annual concert, "Frozen Flutes: Music of the Circumpolar North," Saturday, May 12, at 8 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall. The performance will feature pieces from Scandinavia, Russia, Canada and Alaska. There are 18 flutists in the ensemble playing piccolos, alto and bass flutes as well as the standard C flute, under the direction of adjunct music professor Dorli McWayne. A special work will be "Aurora," which features two antiphonal flute choirs.

A reception follows in the Great Hall under the new aurora ceiling. Admission is free.
