The district Cooperative Extension Service office in Fairbanks will be closed Dec. 18 to Jan. 7 for a move to the University Park Building.

The office will reopen Jan. 8 in Room 109 of the building at 1000 University Ave. Hours will remain 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch hour closure from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Extension office was previously located in the University Park Building but moved six years ago to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank building on 27th Avenue. It retained meeting and classroom space in Room 154 of the University Park Building. The move is a cost-saving measure by Extension to  reduce the use of leased space.

The Cooperative Extension Service is a nationwide education network supported by a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and land-grant universities, including the University of Alaska Fairbanks. For more information, call the office at 474-1530.
