Extension offers informal garden sessions

New and seasoned gardeners are invited to join Cooperative Extension horticulturist Julie Riley for informal Zoom discussions on gardening.

Starting this Friday, she will host the VegHeads Virtual Garden Hour from 7-8:30 p.m., and a New Gardener Q&A will meet Tuesdays from noon-1 p.m., beginning April 21. All sessions are free and no registration is required.

VegHeads will feature a 15-20 minute presentation by Riley, followed by a Q&A and discussion. Topics for VegHeads include:


  • Procuring seeds, April 17

  • Seed starting indoors, April 24

  • Go, go snow, May 1

  • Organic nutrients, May 8

  • Planting outside now, May 15

  • Indispensable garden tools, May 22
