The University of Alaska Museum of the North is exploring the aurora at hands-on programs during the month of January.

Families are invited to drop in with children 5 and under at Early Explorers Fridays from 10 a.m.-noon, except Jan. 5. On Saturday, Jan. 13, children 6 and older are invited to Junior Curators. These activities are all included with admission and free for members.

The public is also invited to the annual open house at the museum on Saturday, Jan. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. Visitors can meet curators and collection managers while touring the research labs. Also, hands-on activities will be available for kids and families.
