The University of Alaska Fairbanks will test its new emergency notification system, Blackboard Connect, Thursday, Nov. 15. At some point during the day, UAF employees and students will get a test message from the system. Visitors to campus may also see or hear test messages. All test messages will clearly note that they are part of the emergency notification test.
The test message will come in a variety of ways. You may see or hear:
• Pop-up messages on your computer
• Calls or voice mail messages on your campus telephones
• Announcements on loudspeakers
• Messages on television screens in public areas
• Messages on yellow Alertus emergency beacons
• Emails from the system
When you receive the messages, please follow any instructions included.
If you would like to update your information and add text messaging or other services to your notifications, visit and follow the instructions there. You will log in using your UA username and password.
