Emergency alert test scheduled for Sept. 17

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will test its emergency notification system on
Tuesday, Sept. 17. At some point during the day, UAF employees and students will receive
one or more test messages. Visitors to campus may also see or hear test messages.
All test messages will clearly note that they are part of the emergency notification
test.
The test messages will come in a variety of ways:
• Calls or voice mail messages on campus telephones
• Calls and text messages to mobile phones
• Pop-up messages on computer screens
• Announcements on loudspeakers
• Messages on yellow Alertus emergency beacons
• Emails
• Social media
