Down Memory Lane will highlight UAF history

Down Memory Lane, an eight-part interview series featuring retired University of Alaska Fairbanks faculty members, will begin June 12.

The series is presented by Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning and coincides with UAF’s centennial year. Hosted by veteran journalist Robert Hannon, Down Memory Lane will provide a forum for emeriti to share wisdom, memories and highlights from their careers at the university.

Larry Bennett, professor emeritus of engineering management, and Bill Mendenhall, professor emeritus of civil engineering, will launch the series at 7 p.m. June 12 at the UAF Elvey Building auditorium.

The series, which will be held on Mondays throughout the summer, is sponsored by KUAC.

Other interview subjects will include:

June 19 — Rudy Krejci, professor emeritus of philosophy and humanities

June 26 — Carl Benson, professor emeritus of geology and geophysics, and Will Harrison, professor emeritus of physics

July 10 — Bill Brody, professor emeritus of art, and Glen Simpson, professor emeritus of art

July 17 — Anne Shinkwin, professor emeritus of anthropology

July 24 — Paul McCarthy, professor emeritus of library science

July 31 — Paul Reichardt, professor emeritus of chemistry, and Terry Chapin, distinguished professor emeritus of biology

Aug. 7 — Dave Klein, professor emeritus of wildlife management, and Dan Hawkins, professor emeritus of geology and chemistry
