Sandra Kowalski, director of Indigenous programs, has announced she will leave her position at the College of Rural and Community Development effective Dec. 6.

“My experience at UAF has been rewarding. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such amazing professionals in higher education,” Kowalski said.

Kowalski has accepted a position as acting assistant superintendent at the Northwest Arctic Borough School District.

Sandy has been a valuable member of our team, helping drive initiatives and projects that are core to the mission of the college. Her contributions coupled with her courtesy, great work ethic, dedication and hard work will not go unnoticed,” said Evon Peter, vice chancellor for rural, community and Native education.
